North Conway

This past weekend Kylie and I took a trip to beautiful North Conway, NH with my girlfriend Gabby, to spend time up there at her vacation home. During the drive to North Conway we experienced some scattered showers, but that didn't ruin our fun. We knew that it was going to clear up for Saturday and Sunday. The trip took us roughly 2 hours after we departed from the University of New Hampshire. The drive was boring due to the road mainly being a two lane highway. Good thing we had music to listen to and gorgeous scenery to look at, event though I should have been paying more attention to road.

When we finally arrived to our destination Kylie could barely wait to get out of the car. She went crazy! Running around smelling everything, marking her territory, and frolicking in the woods surrounding Gabby's house. I could tell you everything we did up there, but that would take forever. I will share the hike we did on Saturday though.

We rose somewhat early on Saturday morning to get ready for our hike. We decided to hike up Black Cap Mountain. Thank God we didn't hike the whole thing or my back would have killed me. With that said, we drove up it a little bit and only hiked the smaller route. We still ended up hiking 5 miles which isn't bad.

Kylie could not have been more excited once we started hiking the trail. I could have left her off her leash, but she is a wild one and would have been running everywhere, so I decided to keep her on her leash. While we were hiking Kylie met some new friends who were just absolutely adorable!

It took us a little over an hour to get to summit of Black Cap Mountain. The view was absolutely amazing. At different vantage points you could look down and overlook the top of Cranmore ski resort. After seeing that, I was glad we didn't complete the whole hike! Kylie and Gabby got to stand on the very top of the summit, which I had to capture a picture of it.

Considering I haven't done any physical activities since mid-summer due to a back injury, this hike was wonderful and a little exhausted. We stayed on the summit and enjoyed some trail mix to gain some energy back and drank some water to re-hydrate. I had Kylie rest with me before we made our descent back.

I don't know what was harder the hike down or up? Probably because Kylie was on that leash and she just wanted to run down the trail to find more doggy friends. It did take us quicker to get down, but it was nice to finally get back to the car. My feet were a little sore and I just wanted to get back to the house to relax before we went out to dinner. As soon as we got back Kylie ate a big bowl of food and passed right out from exhaustion.

Overall, our adventure this past weekend was a well needed vacation away from everyone. North Conway was the perfect place to go at this time because it was in between tourist seasons.

Stay tuned in for next weeks adventure.

Introduction

For this blog I am going to write about the adventures I have with my dog Kylie. Since I love being outdoors and I have a very active dog, it only seems appropriate to write about something that I enjoy, as well as writing about my most prized possession. We usually have adventures every weekend. The only way we don't is if there is difficulties with the weather, but somehow we'll find a way around mother nature.

To start things off let me introduce myself. My name is Corey Crisp or what most people call me, Crispy. I am 23 years old (soon to be 24) and I just moved in with my sister in Manchester, NH. I am an avid golfer, even though I am a bogey golfer, but nothing beats getting out on the course and slugging a few back with your bros. I grew up in Hillsborough, NH right in the sticks of southern NH. You can see where I'm going with this. I LOVE BEING OUTDOORS. Throughout my childhood I played sports every season of the year, so I am a VERY active person who never misses a beat. I prefer to be outside doing activities rather than being enclosed indoors wasting valuable time.

Enough about me already. About four years ago I acquired my brother's dog, Kylie. He was not able to tend to her needs because he is in the Marines and kept being deployed. With that said, I immediately took her in without a doubt. She is an Australian Cattle Dog, or Blue Heeler, who is an absolute doll. She is the nicest dog that anyone could ever ask for, hence why I took her in. Kylie is a trooper that is for sure. She lived with me while I was living in my fraternity house for three years! No she never got drunk or got high. I would not allow that ever in my life.

But since I have had her, she has made me into a more adventurous person. I take her every where I go as long as she is able to. The best part about her is that she never barks for the the hell of it like some other dogs out there in the world. She loves to give kisses and loves being petted, but what dog doesn't like being pat.

I don't know what I would do without her. Like I said earlier, she is my most prized possession.

Next week when I post my next blog about our adventures, I'll have photos up and everything. Also this is my first time blogging, so I don't know what I am doing still. I need to finagle around a little bit more.

Stay tuned for next week. I have a nice adventure planned for this upcoming weekend!!!
